### St. Ignatius of Antioch says in “Epistle to the Magnesians 13:1”:

Study, therefore, to be established in the doctrines of the Lord and the apostles, that so all things, whatsoever you do, may prosper both in the flesh and spirit; in faith and love; in the Son, and in the Father, and in the Spirit; in the beginning and in the end.

### Who is St. Ignatius of Antioch?

Born 30 AD and reposed 107 AD. He is the child whom the Lord Christ took up and set before them as an example of humility. When the apostles saw his burning zeal, they ordained him bishop of Antioch. Some differ on who ordained him: some hold that the Apostle Peter ordained Evodius over the Jewish converts and the Apostle Paul ordained Ignatius over the Gentile converts, and that when the former reposed, Ignatius took over the shepherding of both parts of the Church.
